I'm sorry I havn't been on much. I've been so damn sick the past week or so, and still don't feel very good. It started out like hay fever/allergies, and I blamed helping JT unload the hay. Then it progressed to cold/flu like symptoms, and now I have full on bronchitis and one ear that's bothering me. As soon as I decide I'm going to live, I villl be baaaaaack. ;D

Yay fall! My favorite time of year is almost here. The leaves are already starting to turn on the farm, and the nights are cool enough to sleep with open windows again. We’re finally all recovering from our colds. JT went to Texas to check on his Dad and visit him in the hospital, and T and I went to Lafayette, Louisiana to take a trailer of bottled water and canned goods down for Katrina victims in the shelters there. We couldn’t stay long because T had to get back for school, but we did volunteer in one of the shelters for a day. The place was so packed with people, sanitation was a major concern, so we spent most of our time there cleaning. JT’s Dad has nasopharnyx cancer (ear canal, throat, and sinus cavity) and had been taking aggressive chemotherapy and radiation treatments until he began to suffer severe weight loss. The pain from his cancer was keeping him from eating, and he’d lost down to 109 pounds. His treatments had to be stopped until his weight improved, so he was hospitalized and had a feeding tube inserted. He’s now back up to around 126 pounds, and treatment has resumed.
JT had an interesting morning today, he spent most of it at the Sheriffs Department. We were laying in bed around 7 this morning and heard a gunshot, then what sounded like a bunch of BBs hitting the roof. It’s squirrel season in Arkansas, and we live right next to an acreage that’s leased out for hunting. Someone was hunting close enough to our house that their shot was peppering down on us. This same thing happened last year, we raised hell about it, and they were supposed to have moved the hunting boundary back far enough from the property line to avoid hitting us. Obviously, they didn’t move it enough. JT called the game warden, but on a Saturday he wasn’t answering his phone, so he drove into town to talk to the Sheriff. It took some time, but they did finally reach the land owner and I guess the Sheriff told him if a stray bullet or shot pellets come across on us again, charges will be filed and arrests will be made. Hopefully they’ll take us seriously this time and move those boundaries back further.
Things on the farm are slowing down some too, the garden is finished for the season and we sold quite a bit of livestock to avoid having to grain so many over the winter months. Spring will bring a whole new crop of foals and calves… so the farm hasn’t really lost any size, it’s just taking a rest until Spring. Next week we have to work on getting hay put away and fire wood cut for the winter. I don’t mind getting hay, but I hate cutting wood. LOL No matter how you do it - that’s damn hard work. And JT never wants to cut a tree very close to the house. He always cuts one a mile away, on an incline, in the briars, containing a hornet nest or something. LOL I swear he does. I love wood heat though, the hard work is worth it when you can sit around a glowing fire in December.

Yeah, it seems this place is all but dead. Got tired of talking to myself. I should be used to it, I seem to do it a lot. I figured you had something going on or just couldn't get connected...been there. I can't tell if time is dragging or hauling ass, it seems like weeks but maybe it was just days...Who knows?...Not I.
Got a few things going on, but haven't worked on anything in several days. It's not so much that I haven't been in the mood or bored---that's partially it--but just don't know why. I've worked on my site, worked on the ebook a bit, now doing research for Chris, forgot lots of things I should have done--still can't remember what they were---but time has just slipped away. I swear I could sit here all day and do absolutely nothing and the day would drag. I can plan to do two things that would take about half an hour a piece and the day would fly and I wouldn't get them finished. Father time is being ugly here lately...LOL

Yep… after the trips we were all sick with bad-bad colds, so I wasn’t on-line hardly at all for a couple weeks. But everyone is way better now. What is it about a messy house and company? Swear to gawd, my house was immaculately clean and organized for days and days, no one, zip, I don’t even think the mail ran those days. Saturday night we had stir fry and ate in the living room, no one did the dishes, or cleaned up. Then we made donuts Sunday morning - again no one cleaned up. So of course the place turned into Grand Central Station! LOL First, the neighbor stopped by needing JT to fix one of his horses hooves, she’s developed a crack and needed corrective shoeing. Then another neighbor rode up on his horse, wanting the guys to go riding with him. So JT and T saddled up and took off for a trail ride. I’d just poured myself an extra large soda, had the remote control in one hand and a bag of Doritos in the other - and I’ll be damn if someone didn’t knock on the door - again.
It was Mother and Sara, they’d walked down the hill… which if you saw our hill, you’d comprehend the motivation it normally takes a person to decide to walk down that thing. I thought someone musta died. LOL But apparently they were just out wasting gas and had decided to drop in… or, that’s the story I got anyway. I personally think it was planned, somehow my Mother knew the day my house would be the messiest, she waited - then she struck at the most IN-opportune time! All so she could say: “Well Angela, I’d have thought - with you home all the time now - that your place would have been spotless!” Yeah, yeah. Bite me ya old witch. LOL She done this on purpose, I dunno how, but she done it on purpose.
After they left, the phone rings and it’s Gene and Doreen. They think they’ll stop by and visit on their way to Church and get some eggs if we have any extra. I gave up! Fine, Christ, I’ll clean the damn house already! LOL This is no joke - sure as God makes little green apples - I’d just set the mop and bucket out the back door and let the dish water out of the sink - phone rings again. Gene and Doreen decided they’d swing by next week, they were running late. GRRR! I knew it man! Clean the damn house and NO ONE will come over! Leave it a mess and everyone and their dog drops by. Why is this?! Crazy. Just… crazy.
Anyway, I have really gotta get after JT’s tail about the projects that he’s been slacking on too. I’ve got a dishwasher sitting in the box it came in - cuz he’s too lazy to install it. There’s 2 ceiling fans sitting in their boxes too, again - cuz he’s too lazy to install them. There’s a new light fixture for the front porch he needs to install, a new hose for my washer he needs to install, he needs to put away the sprinkler system that’s still in the garden, and he needs to finish the front steps. Mental note to self - stop doing the things he likes until he starts doing the things I tell him to. LMAO
Have you guys ever given hand made gifts or crafts for Christmas presents? Don’t! It starts an ugly trend you’ll hate yourself for ever having started. LOL Several years ago when it was just me and the kids, I was fairly broke at Christmas time, so I thought well - I’ll just make some gifts. I made Mother an afghan, my Grandmother some embroidered pillows, my Aunt some jars of jelly in pretty little painted jars… everyone on my list got something hand made. Now these people turn in orders! LOL I’m serious. Starting about now and running clean to December, one after another, they manage to call me up and “mention” something they’d just love to have. Mother turned in an order today for 2 woven rugs, funny how she “just thought of it” - yet knew exactly the size and colors she wanted, huh? LOL And Grams wasn’t far behind with her order, she told me earlier tonight that she could really use another house dress… but Wal-Mart doesn’t carry her size and she likes the soft material and the big pockets - you know - like the ones I make. HINT.
For a Monday, today wasn’t too bad actually. The mail brought some really cool freebies. 4 Quaker Oat Cereal bars, a coupon for free OreIda microwave fries, Oil Of Olay facial cloths, and 2 small checks ($5 and $3) for on-line surveys. Not a bad haul. Then around 10 the UPS truck brought my second silver bracelet from that Chico’s promotion. That’s gonna end up being a Sara stocking stuffer at Christmas. I worked around the house a little, got the laundry caught up, made a chocolate cake for JT (who needed it like another hole in his head), and finished a small repair job on a Dell desk top model. As soon as T’s bedtime gets here, I think JT and I are going to sing Karaoke. LOL We sat up last night until well after midnight making the dogs howl. It’s fun, it’s a channel we got on Dish Network, and it keeps us entertained. (Okay, so maybe we’re easily amused, lmao).
Anyway - that’s my weekend and Monday. What’s everyone else been up to?

Oops I didn't login. Imagine that.
First off, lets not even discuss the housework--or lack thereof. I begin to tackle major piles of stuff, get it all seperated into smaller piles so I can do something with them later. Then either I or one of the kids decides it's a mess with all these piles--so it goes back into one big pile. Vicious cycle.
I scrubbed my rugs yesterday morning so they would dry in the heat. They are still in the back yard--thinking it may take three days of this heat to actually to get them crunchy like the grass.
I try not to even open the fridge any more. It's been two weeks that I have told one kid or another to clean it out. Not happening.
Dogs and damn fleas. That's all I will say.
I'm home, the house should be spotless.....insert 'your' thinking here...yeah right!
Basically I am just paving the road to hell over here. I figure in a day or two I am bound to run into you paving in the opposite direction but still on the road to hell.
Have done some research, flagged some mag articles of tips, worked on my site a wee wittle bit. Sent my resume out to some places--have a feeling no one will call--and no I have not tied up the phone line with the internet to prove it. I don't get on here til after lunch. By god a company hiring should be early birds..lol
Other than that...it's the same old shit, just another day. I think it's Wednesday...yep, had to look at the cell phone b/c I don't trust the calendar anymore...it lies all the time.

Mint oil - little on cotton balls arund the house and you won't have a flea problem inside at all. Something about it just irritates the crap out of fleas and they run from it. Soak a few cotton balls and put them by door ways, in corners, under furniture - and you won't see a flea inside... plus it makes the house smell good. ;D I dunno about using it on animals directly tho - never tried that. We use FrontLine on the inside pets and the same barn yard chemical we use on the horses for the outside pets.
If you get the Clarksville paper, you should see my daughter in there soon. She got her scholarship award notice in the mail yesterday for Arkansas Southern University in Magnolia. She’s planning on majoring in Criminal Psychology, and wants to be a Profiler someday. And I guess Matthew is going to move to Arkansas to be with her - instead of her moving to California to join him… which was fantastic news for me. I had reservations about her moving there, but wouldn’t have tried to stop her - it’s her life, and I want her to make her own decisions. So anyway, we now have 2 in college and 2 in trade school… yay!! If they don’t drop out and decide to join the Moonies or something - there may hope for these little honyocks yet. LOL
I got SO frustrated yesterday, OMG… the oldest son moved into a rent assisted apartment for students… some form of HUD, I guess, but not section 8. When he moved in, they told him he’s responsible for his own utility deposits and bills, so he had his electric turned on. His water heater and furnace is electric, the only thing in his apartment that’s gas is the cooking stove in the kitchen. This is something the boy will never use, never. He’s the King of the microwave and Fry Daddy. So, he saw no reason to pay $120 deposit and $23 monthly service charge for gas he’ll NEVER use. Well, apparently, there’s some HUD policy that say’s unless you have all your utilities turned on and paid up each month - they can evict you. Yeah. Kid comes home Monday and there’s a notice hanging on his door… he’s got a week to get the gas on, or get moved. He’s a full time student, he only works like 16 hours a week (Saturday and Sunday) - he doesn’t have $120 bucks, nor does he have an extra $23 month for the service.
So I contact his Manager, who tells me it’s a HUD policy, Federal Law, no way around the requirement - but he can contact a few different agencies and maybe one of them will pay the deposit for him. I took the names and numbers of these agencies and started calling. Every single one - same story - out of funds. So, I ended up paying the kid’s deposit and getting his gas turned on for him… which was fine… that’s not what pissed me off. What infuriated me was the fact he was FORCED into having to do it in the first place. So I got on the phone at the Federal level and started asking questions. I was told by the HUD office in Little Rock that the policy was created because of people moving into these rental assisted units for free, then never turning on their utilities, and basically creating unsafe environments for children. Okay, fine, I can see this - if you have kids, yes, you need to have utilities, and if you can’t afford utilities then there should be agencies to help cover those costs too. BUT… would these agencies be out of funds IF there weren’t countless young single students being FORCED to call on them for services they DON’T even need?? I mean, yes - I can see the need for the policy - but should the damn thing be a blanket policy? I don’t think so. If you don’t have kids, and you don’t cook - why in the cornbread hell do you NEED gas?
In my opinion, by forcing these kids to tap these agencies and their resources - in effect - isn’t HUD actually hurting the very people they intended on helping? I mean, if these kids are taking all the assistance money to get gas they don’t even need turned on - what’s left for a single Mother who DOES need it? And I double checked - there IS NO qualification process, money isn’t given on a “need” basis - it’s granted on a first come, first served basis. Had my son know gas was a requirement, he could have applied for assistance up to a YEAR before he actually needed the money. Most single Mother’s don’t know that far ahead of time when they might have to move and need new deposits. These students can actually apply months before they ever really need the funds. That doesn’t seem right. Making these kids take services and sending them to get assistance for these services - when they don’t even NEED them - is crazy. It’s taking the funding away from those who DO need it.

I so sick of Arkansas Net. I pay $20 a month to get disconnected about every 15 minutes, connect at a snail’s pace, and get recorded messages saying their server is temporarily down for maintenance. I found one in the Yellow Pages I’m going to call Monday called Arkansas Digital. PK, you might wanna call them too, their ad says they have broadband wireless and service the 754, 667, and 468 areas… unlimited $18 a month, but that may be their dial-up price, not sure. Anyway, toll free: 866-305-2753. I guess that little power flicker we had last night re-set the Booneville server, and someone had to be called in to go out in person and do… something? They explained this took time, yadda… and I’m sure it does. But it seems to me Arkansas Net has these little “issues” WAY too often.
Anyway, yay rain! We needed it so badly. I just wish it hadn’t came at the expense of residents of Lake Charles and the Ninth Ward of New Orleans again. It’s easy to sit and be an arm chair Judge, and like the saying goes - hindsight is 20/20... But I swear, throughout Katrina and now Rita, I’ve done nothing but cuss the TV. In my opinion, both hurricanes were blatantly obvious proof that this Nation is NOT ready for a terrorist attack if we can’t even efficiently and effectively coordinate a rescue and evacuation during a weather related crisis. That exodus from Houston was pathetic. The Mayor gets on TV and basically say’s… okay, y’all leave now. Yeah. One major interstate out, and a city the size of Houston hits it at once. What the hell did they THINK would happen? Of course, they limit the return - did you catch that? See, that many people cramming back into Houston could endanger the workers and cause looting and property damage - basically, put the officials and their budget at risk - so certainly, by all means, make the re-entry to Houston more organized. I won’t even get started on the Ninth Ward levee, that’s so far beyond pathetic it’s insane. The whole experience, from watching in awe struck horror on TV, to going to Lafayette and trying to help - all I have to say is - protect yourself. Because this Nation is in no position to help you. By the time help comes, you probably won’t need it anymore.
On a positive note though, KUDOS Fort Chaffee. I’m glad to see Arkansas and the closed Military Base doing what it can. I’d wondered for years why those abandoned housing units were being left to decay. It’s about time they were put to good use! Once the dust settles there and the refugees get to a somewhat normal daily schedule, T and I are going to go do some volunteer work there too. I’m sure an extra hand could be used for laundry, meal preparation and serving, and cleaning. And I urge anyone else who can, call or stop by, and offer some time. I believe they are doing somewhat okay right now, as far as staff and volunteers go, but over the long haul - more will be needed.

"I been thinkin' bout the door bell, when ya gonna ring it, when ya gonna ring it..." Damn you White Stripes! I've had that in my head ALL day!! LOL What is it with 4th grade and homework? My Gods this kid comes home with HOURS worth every night! I’m talking from right after dinner, until sometimes 30 minutes after his bedtime. He couldn’t even play football this year because of all this freeken’ homework. His little friend had all Fs on his progress report - so he’s now out of football too. I told his Mom, honestly, I wouldn’t blame the kid - I believe we all need to group together and go have a talk with that Teacher. This is just ridiculous. On a happier note - the farm is getting BEAUTIFUL… fall is making the hillside look like a patchwork quilt of orange, red, and yellow. The horses are starting to get that early morning frisky attitude because it’s so much cooler. When I fed them this morning, little Cricket almost plowed me over. LOL She came racing around the shed and didn’t know I was standing there. She threw on all 4 brakes and slid to a stop within inches of me. I laughed at her and said Whoa! And she just bolted off the other direction. They all act like colts when the air’s crisp like that… but Cricket flat shows out. LOL The new puppy is finally starting to get house broken, so hopefully in a week or two I can get all the newspapers up off the floor. He’s a cutie, but attitude - oh my gosh! He’s part terrier, so he thinks he’s Hulk Hogan, and he’s only like 4 inches tall. JT tried to swat his tail a few days ago for chewing on a shoe - little bugger turned around and bit him! We had named him Noodle, but after he bit JT, we’re thinking of changing it to Tyson. LMAO He’s absolute holy terror on the cats too, they see him coming and they all run fast and jump high! T gave him a bath a few nights ago and that was a hoot. That little puppy carried on like T was killing him the entire time he was bathing him… then whined to get back in the tub when T was finished. LOL Crazy puppy. And speaking of JT… he’s now by far the King of Karaoke. LOL Bitched like a little pig stuck under a gate when I ordered the channel, now he hogs it. I even caught him singing a Michael Jackson song earlier today… and I’m not sure if that’s funny… or a desperate cry for help. LOL He was the same way over T’s play station, he threw a fit when he saw the price tag - then several more when he saw the cost of games - now the poor kid has to fight him to get the controller. My portable CD player - in JT’s shed. T’s wind up flash light - in JT’s truck. Next he’ll be wearing my clothes. LMAO ~Ang

The mail brought a small surprise today, an unexpected refund from JT’s Radiologist… apparently I’d over-paid them. How cool is that? LOL Usually they send us a nasty gram demanding mo’money. Have you guys heard that old Elton John song that say’s something like “Get back, Honky Cat, living in the city ain’t where it’s at”? I named one of our cats Honky Cat because he came from town, and moved to the country with us. Anyway, T almost got in trouble at school today because of Honky’s name. Yeah. A Teacher thought it was a “racial slur”. T explained it was a song, and why we named the cat this, but she still sent him to the Office. He explained it all to the Principal who thought it was funny - but warned him to maybe not say it in public, because people might misunderstand it’s meaning. T was fine with this, and went back to class. But when she called me to tell me about the incident - I was NOT fine. I mean, good grief… what happens if he say’s Halleluiah Cat’s name - is someone gonna bitch about religion in school? Or what if he say’s Nacho Flea’s name - is it gonna piss off the Mexicans? And what if I’d named one of my cats Pussy Cat? What then? This politically correct crap is a little over board in my opinion. Honky was named after a song, Halleluiah got his name because he survived being ran over by a car, and Nacho Flea’s got his name because he’s a cheese colored cat with a bunch of fleas. *shakes head*
T’s trying to decide what to be for Halloween, I have to decide what to get my Dad for his Halloween birthday, and T’s class is having a party and I have to decide what to make or send 42 of. LOL Lot’s to do before the 31st. I think we’re going to Trick or Treat in Booneville this year instead of Paris. JT normally follows T around and I drive, and T‘s little friend Chance is planning on joining them this year too. I suggested they all 3 dress up as the cast of the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. LMAO JT can be Grim. T was like YEAH!… then Chance reminded him - dude - who’s gonna be Mandy? LOL If I get the time, I’d like to make individual Halloween treat bags for his class party - but if not - I’ll just have CV’s IGA deliver a few dozen cup cakes. LOL For Dad’s b-day… I may give him what he wants, which is a painting. But I may also give him some little trinkets for his medicine bag. I have a buckeye, a rattlesnake’s buttons, the stone from the head of a drum fish, and a small sage stick I made. Keeping to custom, it’s good medicine for him to return such a gift… so, that’s why I’m debating doing it on his b-day. LOL

I am such a puss. T went trick-or-treating with his friends, so JT and I were home all alone - and I was feeling a bit cheated. Halloween is normally one of my favorite nights of the whole year, but the rain ruined that parade... then T ditched us for his friends. So finally after moping around half an hour, JT said - Hey! - get yer camera, turn out the lights, and lets see if we can attract any wayward spirits roaming through here tonight. Kewl! I snapped off several inside the house, but hadn't noticed anything all that freaky in the little view window on the back - so I was just fixing to put the camera away. JT say's... no, take a few of this window behind me, I get a feeling now and then that something's watching me. Okay fine. First snap, I'm seeing something REALLY disturbing in the view window... so I rapidly snapped off about 4 more. Nothing in those. But I knew I had something strange in that first one, so I ran back to the computer to transfer and take a look. Sure enough, 2 glowing eyes, right outside that window - and way too tall to be human. Freaked out JT too, so he wants to go out and investigate. Investigate? My ass! Dude - there's something out there with glowing eyes that's taller than ME - umkay? Taller than ME. How about... NO. LOL I'm half cowering inside the doorway, and off JT goes across the yard. He's creeping... creeping... than I hear AAAHHHH!!! And I'm about to damn DIE thinking something just ate JT whole all gone!! Then I hear him laughing his butt off. The monster was one of the horses, Baby, who'd got out of the fence and went window peeping. She's real tall at the withers, and has a long neck... so her eyes were a good 7 feet tall in the picture. I prolly scared and blinded her with the flash, so she'd walked around the house to graze. When JT rounded the corner, they both scared the crap out of each other. LMAO JT gets back inside and looks at me and say's... and YOU were WHERE?? I didn't see you behind me, so I KNOW you didn't have my back! WHERE were you on that one?? LMAO... someone hadda survive to tell the story, right?? ~Ang

That was too funny. Would have skeerd the shit out of me too....and yes, taller than you would be fucking tall.
Well if all goes well, I will be leaving tomorrow night to go Elk hunting with Chris.
I kind of pulled a drunk last night--unintentionally--so my typing skills and thinking skills are pretty much null this morning...not to mentioin it's 5:45 in the freaking morning.

;DGawd I love this new puter! Thanksgiving is coming very soon and we've got a HUGE one planned. I'm just hoping it doesn't turn into a Springer episode. LOL JT's Mom and Dad are divorced - but both are coming. JT, his brother Big T, and sister L, are all from JT's Mom and Dad... JT's other two brothers, J and B - are from his Mom's second marriage. Now from his Dad's second marriage, we'll have JT's half-sister D and adopted step brother G coming too. (Confused yet? LOL) There's a possibility their Mom E may come too. The reason for such a huge extended reunion is JT's Dad has cancer - the outlook is grim - and the whole family wanted to gather if possible. Of course all the above will also be bringing their spouces and children too. Mom, Dad, Grams, Adam, Sara of course will all be coming. Both girls are flying in from Denver and bringing the grandbaby. I think we're looking at somewhere around 32 people! That's a bunch o'poeple. I've already told JT, the first sign of drama - I'm out the door! LOL So unless he wants to turn into Chef Boy Ardee and feed the masses by himself - he best be running some SERIOUS crowd control. ~Ang

I'm glad it's you and not me. We are planning a small gathering the day after Thanksgiving. Small b/c there really isn't any family left on either side...just our kids.
So, it appears to be (Erin and Josh)(Tiffany, Savannah, Shaun)(Tabatha)(Beth) and maybe Chuck and Wayne.
Josh has never had cornbread dressing--not sure he's ever even had a traditional thanksgiving--so this will be a new thing for him.
The pic of JT was very good. I like the way it looks 'old'...not him, just the pic..LOL...He don't look no older than Chris. Of course I don't know how old JT is, but Chris is 44.
I need to write about my trip and post it somewhere, or else I will be repeating it a dozen times...LOL..As a writer you'd think this would be an easy task. Of course I haven't even attempted to try it..LOL I guess I could try it as a log journal. I took pen and paper, but do you think I wrote anything? Nope. I was on vacation...hehe!
