Thanks PK for creating this board, I really missed Cobble Stones!
Let’s see… an introduction… ;D
I’m 38, a Mom of 5 all together - 3 + 2 steps. The youngest (11) is the only one still at home, however this changes from time to time. The older ones seem to leave and make a huge U turn and come right back. We have one grandbaby, who’s 4 months old (and of course!) the cutest baby ever! We live on a small farm in rural Arkansas, the hubby raises, trains, and sells Paint and Quarter horses. I run a small computer business.
Most recently, our focus of interest has been becoming more self sufficient on our land. Slowly we’ve been converting to organic gardening, herbal medication and healing, and raising animals for consumption. The goal is to reach the point where we require very little from outside sources to survive on the land we have. We raise a huge garden each season, cattle, hogs, chickens, turkey, duck and rabbits. This is the first year our fruit trees and berries have really produced, so we were able to put away apples, peaches, black berries, and grapes.
I’m always interested in old recipes, and old farming techniques. Home remedies, herbal teas and medicinal incense. I try my best to stay away from harsh chemical cleaners, so I’m interested in any tips and tricks others have for around the house cleaning chores. I’m very interested in “crafty” things, quilting, sewing, candle making, furniture re-finishing and restoration, embroidery, crochet, and I’m a huge auction and yard sale fan.
