Clue me in PK... I could Google this but it's easier to just ask you. The use of a crystal ball is typically considered a method of divination - but could it also be considered scrying? ~Ang

From what my infinite internal wisdom tells me....the answer to your question is Yes.
To me (and only to me I assume) scrying and crystal ball gazing does the exact same thing. I think the tools you use are the only difference, crystal ball is of course a pretty clear orb, where as with most scrying it's a black mirror or black bowl of water--but you are still using them for divination and visions.
P.S. My infinite internal wisdom does or did not come from books. I jis know..LOL

Speaking of tools, I've been meaning to say this somewhere on the forum, and since I'm here as I think of it - it's gonna get posted here. ;D
There's literally hundreds of "tools" that are recognized, and if you've ever purchased any - you know they're not cheap! But there’s thousands not recognized. And most of these won't cost you a thing.
The bones of an aged person are a tool to predict the weather, especially rain. I had an Aunt who used her false teeth as a tool to predict crop conditions - if her teeth fit good on planting day, it meant she’d have plenty to eat come harvest day - if they rattled around in her mouth, it meant pickings would be slim come harvest. And I never knew of her teeth to be wrong. I read the leaves on a certain tree to tell when rain is coming, that’s a tool. A forked peach or persimmon tree branch - that’s a witching tool. A peach seed, split in half, has 3 signs inside - a fork, knife and spoon. You may see only one, or any combination thereof, and all has a different meaning. One of my favorite “ghost hunting” tools is a poster board and charcoal brickette. Same tool could be used for automatic writing.
Bottom line is simple: Anything that enables you to conduct the business at hand is a tool. And not all tools will work equally well for all people. Experiment, find the tools that work best for you. If you get no results scrying with a mirror - try a bowl of water - or a crystal ball.

Wonder if that's where the phrase "Diggin up bones" orginated? People using them as tools for spells.
I rarely use any tools, i.e., athame, wand, knife, etc. The main things I use are candles, written spells, a small cast iron cauldron to burn my spells in--and that's about it. I don't even follow the books' guide for proper procedure. I do what I feel is right and all that stuff.
I do use my runes and tarot cards. I am notorious for a one card pull too. Three is about the most I ever pull at one time. I haven't tried scrying because I am not sure I am ready to see what might appear..LOL..
Sometimes when I close my eyes I see images. Like of cars going down the road, people walking, stuff like that. They have no meaning to me or nothing and I don't know if they are actual events going on somewhere, but it happens. Sometimes I close my eyes and see absolutely nothing.
I do want a large crystal ball though. Not so much for divination but cuz they have always fascinated me when I see them in movies. But, since they are quite expensive, this may be awhile. I can't see shelling out $500 for a round piece of crystal at this point in my life. And you know me...I want the big one..LOL
